St. Catharine marine docs si trova ad ovest di Olcott in corrispondenza della foce di un fiume (non il primo che si incontra andando ad ovest, il secondo che è più piccolo).
Inoltre tale località è più vicina in linea d'aria da Toronto rispetto ad Olcott, ed il fatto che la porzione inferiore visibile degli edifici di Toronto sia maggiore rispetto alla vista da Olcott, è una ulteriore prova della curvatura della superficie del lago.
